Survey on the Nursing Activities Given to the Hospitalized Patients in a Hospital


Abstract
A Study on the nursing activities given to the patients during the period from May 1 to
.June 30, 1985. 418 hospitalized patients in St. Mary¢¥s Hospital at that time were subjects. 1. The degrees of the patient¡¯s satisfaction to the environmental elements in hospital
are followings: Among the responders, 67% replied in the orderly arrangement and cleanliness of surroundings with positive response, and 70% felt comfortable in illumination, 79% in room temperature 82% in ventilation, and 25% in environmental noise.
2. Satisfaction to nurse¡¯s attitude toward the patients
.3. Nursing activities concerned with orientation on patients¢¥ showed 80% of positive response and 89% in nursing care rounds admission.
a) In 44% of the cases, patients were taught about how to use nurse call.
b) Orientation about facilities, hospital regulations and the ward structure was done to
72% of patients.
.4. Nursing activities concerned with the patients needs.
a) In 89% of the cases, patients replied nurses carried out nursing activities with exact method at exact time.
b) In 72% of nurses gave explanation before nursing care and procedures were taken.
c) In 70% of the cases, nurse gave proper help when patients needed aid in activities of daily life.
d) Among responders, 62% of the patients replied nurses checked and evaluated the results of each procedure taken.
e) In 74% of the cases, nurses listened to patient¡¯s complaints.
f) In 8000, nurses gave psychological support to the patients filling anxiety and fear g) In 75%, nurses made provisions to keep privacy to patients during hospitalization.
